Titans Win Three Events at UW-Platteville Invitational

PLATTEVILLE, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh men's track and field team took fourth place in the UW-Platteville Invitational on Friday (April 14) with 88 points, with three event wins.

Track Event Results

Freshman Zach Nelson took seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:29.39

In the 110-meter hurdle finals, freshman Aden Sears placed third, running a time of 15.04 seconds.

Two Titans qualified for the 100-meter dash finals with freshman Ja'siah Williams grabbing sixth (10.96) and junior Joey Kean in eighth (10.98).

Freshman Trent Chadwick finished the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:16.70 for a top-20 finish.

Freshman Devin Williams ran the 400-meter dash with a team season best third place, 49.09 second finish and sophomore Londyn Little followed in fourth with a time of 49.35 seconds. Junior Rashaad Henderson also finished in the top-20 with a 50.72 second time.

Senior Steven Potter finished with the 800-meter run crown, running a team season best 1:51.69. Junior Reid Marquardt finished in the top-20 with a 1:56.11.

Junior Elijah Pena took eighth in the 400-meter hurdles, setting the new team season best at 57.18 seconds. Freshman Damareyon Taylor and sophomore Weston Lerdal took top-20 spots with finishes of 58.29 seconds and 58.35 seconds, respectively.

Henderson won Oshkosh their second event of the day with a 21.24 second time in the 200-meter dash, a personal career best and the second-fastest time in program history. Little took fourth in 21.80 seconds and junior Brett Clavijo took sixth in 21.98 seconds.

The 4x400-meter relay 'A' squad finished with a time of 3:22.88 for sixth place and the 'B' squad took 10th with a 3:28.35.

Field Event Results

Freshmen Isaiah Isom and Kieran Maude threw 46' 7 3/4" (14.22m) and 46' 3" (14.10m), respectively in the shot put for top-20 marks.

Isom casted 137' (41.75m) and Maude, 133' 11" (40.81m) in the discus throw for two more top-20 finishes.

In the javelin throw, freshman Fenyx Morningdove led the Titans, throwing 148' 3" (45.19m) for 11th place. Junior RJ Bosshart followed in the top-20 with a mark of 142' 1" (43.30m).

Three Titans placed in the top-eight in the long jump, led by sophomore AK Toheeb-Lawal with a team season best jump of 23' 1 1/4" (7.04m) and fourth place. Freshman Caleb Wright followed in fifth with a mark of 22' 9 1/2" (6.95m) and freshman Elijah McCauley took seventh, jumping 22' 8" (6.91m). Junior Diego Villalobos and junior Payton White finished the event in the top-20 with marks of 22' 4" (6.81m) and 21' 11 1/2" (6.69m).

Wright also placed top-eight in the triple jump, jumping 45' 8 3/4" (13.94m) for seventh place.

Sophomore Caleb Cornelius won the high jump for the second consecutive week with a team season best mark of 6' 9" (2.06m). Freshman Charlie Nolan jumped 6' 2" (1.88m) for a top-20 mark, followed by sophomore Aden Sears with a jump of 6' 2" (1.88m).

Sophomore Zach Zirgibel took third in the pole vault as the only Titan to compete with a height of 14' 6 1/2" (4.43m).

Looking Forward

The Titans will return to action on the road on Friday and Saturday (April 21-22), competing in the UW-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge. Events will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
