No. 13 Titans Will Compete at UW-Platteville Invite; Hold Two Top-10 #EventSquads and Three Top-10 Marks

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh men's track and field team is ranked No. 13 in the nation in this week's poll, holds two top-10 #EventSquads and owns three top-10 individual marks. They will compete in the UW-Platteville Invitational on Friday and Saturday (April 14-15).

Team National Ranking

The Titans jumped from being ranked No. 42 in last week's poll, to No. 13 this week's United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll. Other WIAC competitors in the top-25 are UW-La Crosse (No. 2) and UW-Platteville (No. 15).

#EventSquad Rankings

Senior Jaylen Grant, freshman Ja'siah Williams, senior Denzel Thomas and sophomore Keegan Cullison average a 10.68 second finish in the 100-meter dash which ranks third in the nation. Also in the top-10 is the 1,500-meter run squad which averages a time of 3:56.70. Seniors Steven Potter and Andrew Rathkamp, sophomore Jake Krause and freshman Cameron Cullen are all members of the squad.

Individual National Rankings

Oshkosh holds three top-10 marks in the country headed into the weekend, all leading the WIAC. Senior Eli Tranel sits at second in the nation with a 16' 4 3/4" (5.00m) mark in the pole vault. Ranking third nationally, Potter owns a 1,500-meter run time of 3:49.36. Sophomore Caleb Cornelius sits fourth in the nation in the high jump with a best mark of 6' 7 3/4" (2.03m).

Conference Leaders

Besides the three top-10 national rankings, the Titans lead the conference in two more events. Sophomore Rashaad Henderson paces the WIAC in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.85 and the 4x400-meter relay squad (sophomore Dwight Hosni, freshman Nick Vey, junior Reid Marquardt and Potter) owns a time of 3:21.56.

Last Week's Highlights

At the UW-La Crosse Ashton May Invitational last Friday (April 7), the Titans placed first in four events. Henderson ran his 21.85 time in the 200-meter dash, the 4x400-meter relay squad won in their time of 3:21.56, Cornelius jumped his 6' 7 3/4" (2.03m) in the high jump and Tranel vaulted his 16' 4 3/4" (5.00m). Oshkosh also collected three second place and four third place finishes. Grant took second in the 100-meter dash finals with a finish of 10.56 seconds. Sophomore Londyn Little and junior Jaylin Boatman grabbed second and third in the 200-meter dash with times of 21.89 and 22.13 seconds, respectively. Potter ran a 3:50.73 1,500-meter run, taking second. After qualifying for the finals, freshman Aden Sears finished the day in third, running a 14.97 second time. In field events, freshman Caleb Wright finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 46' (14.02m) and freshman Isaiah Isom took third in the shot put, casting 47' 3 1/2" (14.41m).

Where the Titans are Competing

Oshkosh will head to Platteville to compete in the UW-Platteville Invitational on Friday and Saturday (April 14-15). Events will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday.
