No. 1 Titans Win Eight Events and the Red Hawk Invite on Saturday

RIPON, Wis.- The No. 1 nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team took first in the Ripon College Red Hawk Invite on Saturday, scoring 264 points and winning eight events. They have now placed first in all three scored meets this year and finished with at least 264 points.

Ripon College (Wis.) took second with 119 points, followed by St. Norbert College (Wis.) (82), Lawrence University (Wis.) (40) and Concordia University of Wisconsin (39) in the top-five.

Track Events

After all eight preliminary spots were filled by Titans, sophomore Londyn Little won the final round with a time of 6.91. The other qualifiers were freshman Ja'siah Williams (6.92), senior Jaylen Grant (6.92), sophomore Keegan Cullison (6.96), junior Joey Kean (6.97), junior Danny Vinson (6.99), junior Brett Clavijo (7.00) and graduate student Aaron Richardson (7.01). 

Freshman Damareyon Taylor led Oshkosh in the 60-meter hurdles with a 9.13 second finish for fourth place as the only Titan to run in the final round. 

Oshkosh took the top seven spots in the 200-meter dash, led by freshman Devin Williams with a 22.65 seconds. Junior Rashaad Henderson took second (22.70), followed by freshman Charlie Nolan (22.83), senior Jonathan Wilburn (23.04), Cullison (23.12), Ja'siah Williams (23.24) and freshman Dylan Gramley (23.26).

In the 400-meter dash, senior John Ford won the race in a time of 51.42 seconds. He was followed by sophomore Weston Lerdal (51.74) in second, freshman Caiden Hoeppner (51.91) in fourth and junior Jaylin Boatman (52.96) in seventh.

Sophomore Ryan Potter won the 600-meter dash in 1:20.74 as the sole Titan to run in the event.

Sophomore Dwight Hosni and freshman Cameron Cullen both finished in the top-three in the mile run with times of 4:21.53 and 4:22.89, respectively.

Sophomore Eli Traeder led all runners in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:50.63. Freshman Paul Proteau grabbed second with an 8:53.14 finish.

In the longest running event of the day, freshman John Thill grabbed the 5,000-meter run crown in 15:41.39.

Oshkosh won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:24.63. The Titans also took second (3:27.69) and fourth (3:34.20).

Field Events

Freshman Mason Delaney tied for third in the high jump with a 1.88-meter mark. Freshmen Cole Spanbauer and Matthew Ewens tied for sixth with marks of 1.78 meters.

In the long jump, AK Toheeb-Lawal led Oshkosh with a third place 6.76-meter finish. Freshman Caleb Wright took fourth (6.75), senior Jamyle Brantley took sixth (6.52), junior Payton White took seventh (6.50) and freshman Aden Sears took eighth (6.44).

A 4.45-meter mark in the pole vault gave sophomore Zach Zirgibel second place.

Wilburn bested his own nation-leading 15.15-meter mark in the triple jump from the Early Bird Invitational on Dec. 10 with a 15.20 -meter finish on Saturday. 

Freshman Kieran Maude led all Division III shot put competitors, following Wisconsin's Andrew Stone in second with a 14.22-meter throw. Senior Tay'Jion Johnson took third (13.38) and freshman Cameron Bendixen took fifth (12.75).

Bendixen grabbed third in the 35-lb. weight throw with a 14.43-meter mark, followed by Maude in fifth with a 13.16-meter finish.

Looking Forward

The Titans return to action on Feb. 11 to compete in the UW-Whitewater Elite Invitational, which starts at 11 a.m.
