Titans Headed to Ripon to Compete in Red Hawk Opener

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh men's track and field team will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 21 in Ripon for the Ripon College Red Hawk Opener at 10:30 a.m. 

Triple jump, high jump, and shot-put start at 10:30 for the field events. The men will follow the women in the long jump, pole vault and 35-lb. weight throw. Track events start with the 4x200-meter relay, followed by the 5,000-meter run, 60-meter hurdle and dash preliminaries, mile run, 400-meter dash, 60-meter hurdle and dash finals, 800-meter run, 200-meter dash, 3,000-meter run and 4x400-meter relay.

Oshkosh's most recent meet was the Early Bird Invitational, hosted in Kolf Sports Center on Saturday, Dec. 10. They place first of 10 teams, scoring 293.5 points.

Andrew Rathkamp won the 3,000-meter run in a time of 8:32.00. The only Titan in the mile run, Eduardo Neri won, finishing in 4:34.50. Elijah Pena took the 400-meter dash with 50.39. For the sixth-fastest time in school history, Jaylen Grant won the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.84. Ryan Potter set a personal-best time in the 800-meter run (1:53.16). Londyn Little won the 200-meter dash in a time of 21.87, third in school history. Joe Kehoe took first in the 5,000-meter run (15:18.78). Zach Zirgibel set the sixth-highest mark in the pole vault with a 4.90-meter high. Jonathan Wilburn took the triple jump crown with a 15.15-meter jump.
