Kindt Named To CSC Academic All-America Second Team

AUSTIN, Texas- Riley Kindt of the UW-Oshkosh women's volleyball team earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America distinction on Tuesday morning (Jan. 9).

This is the second consecutive year a Titan earned Academic All-America laurels; Abby Fregien (Jr. • Waukesha) was the first in program history to earn the honor last year.

A nursing major, Kindt (Sr. • Brookfield) owns a 3.88 cumulative grade point average and has been on the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll for the last three academic years. She is very involved in the local community, volunteer coaching with youth volleyball leagues and the Special Olympics as well as assisting in the operation of the UW-Oshkosh volleyball youth camps each summer.

On the court, she recorded 3.25 kills per set on a .334 attack percentage, adding 113 total blocks (23 solo) and 27 aces with an average a 4.0 points per set.

This season, she was included on her third consecutive All-WIAC First Team, earned both America Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region 8 First Team and Player of the Year. Her appearance on the AVCA All-America First Team marks the first time since 2009 that a Titan earned a First Team placement.
