Titans Set For First WIAC Title Match Since 2008

OSHKOSH, Wis.- For the first time since 2008, the UW-Oshkosh women's volleyball team is headed to the WIAC Tournament title match.

UW-Oshkosh defeated UW-Eau Claire in five sets at McPhee Physical Education Center in the 2008 championship tilt.

The top-seeded Titans will face the second-seeded Warhawks on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Kolf Sports Center. In their regular season matchup, the Titans swept the Warhawks in Whitewater on Sept. 20 for their first win over the Warhawks since 2015 and first sweep since 1994.

UW-Oshkosh (34-0, 7-0 WIAC), currently on a conference-record 34 match winning streak, leads the league with a .253 hitting percentage, 14.12 kills per set, 13.16 assists per set and 17.61 digs per set while holding opponents to a league-low 10.13 kills per set and 1.23 aces per set.

All-WIAC first team representatives for UW-Oshkosh include Riley Kindt (Sr. • Brookfield), Sami Perlberg (Fr. • Chippewa Falls) and Abby Fregien (Jr. • Waukesha). Kindt was named to her third-straight first team. Fregien earned All-Defensive status and head coach Jon Ellmann won Kwik Trip Coach of the Year, each for the second consecutive season. Riley Dahlquist (So. • Sussex) was tabbed for Honorable Mention while Maddy Pearson (Sr. • Kimberly) was nominated for the Titans' place on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

UW-Whitewater (25-4, 6-1 WIAC) has scored a conference-best 17.70 points per set, blocked 2.75 attacks per set and scored 2.30 aces per set. The Warhawks have held their opponents to a sub-.100 hitting percentage throughout the season.

Five members of the Warhawks earned All-WIAC status this season. Jenna Weinfurt was named Kwik Trip Offensive Player of the Year and was joined by Kirsten Anderson on the first team. Honorable Mention nods for Whitewater were Morgan Jensen and Aubrie Kruzs. Jensen was tabbed for Kwik Trip Defensive Player of the Year and was included on the All-Defensive Team. Kruzs was named the Kwik Trip Newcomer of the Year. Hannah Proctor was Whitewater's member of the All-Sportsmanship Team.
