Fregien Earns Third WIAC x Kwik Trip Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week Nod

MADISON, Wis.- Abby Fregien, who has two previous WIAC x Kwik Trip Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week honors to her name, earned the nod for her performance at the Trinity University (Texas) Invitational on Sept. 1 and 2.

Fregien (Jr./Waukesha) compiled 66 digs during No. 15-ranked UW-Oshkosh's four games in the Trinity University (Texas) Invitational. She recorded 13 against University of Texas at Dallas, 22 against Texas Lutheran University and eight against Birmingham-Southern College (Ala.) before finishing the weekend off with 23 against Trinity University (Texas). On top of her stellar defense, Fregien notched eight aces, including four against Texas Lutheran. UW-Oshkosh handed Trinity its second loss on its home court since 2018 and its first three-set loss at home since 2017. For her performance, Fregien was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Fregien bookended the 2022 season with WIAC x Kwik Trip Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week honors.
