Volleyball to Host Community Night

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh volleyball team will host Community Night on Tuesday, September 26 at Kolf Sports Center when they host WIAC rival UW-Stevens Point.

The Titans will invite local school and club volleyball families , UW Oshkosh Athletic Department sponsors, and the local community to their match against the Pointers in an effort to create a deeper connection with the community and attempt to break the NCAA Division III volleyball regular season attendance record that was set when Hope College (Mich.) defeated Calvin University (Mich.) at home on Oct. 18, 2013.

"The Fox Valley community has been an amazing supporter of youth and collegiate athletics and as a higher education institution geographically positioned in the center of this amazing region," head volleyball coach Jon Ellmann said on Wednesday, "It's an honor to host an event that brings our community together to celebrate and champion Titan student-athletes. Volleyball is growing. More girls now play volleyball than any other female team sport in the country.  We have a beautiful arena that holds more than any other DIII arena in the country.  The previous attendance record of 3,051 was set 10 years ago and it's our hope that we can get the Fox Valley out in force to create an evening that will surely be special for all involved."

Fans will gain free attendance courtesy of the UW-Oshkosh volleyball program along with a giveaway from 4Imprint.
