Sundholm Tabbed WIAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

UW-Oshkosh junior outside hitter Carissa Sundholm has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for matches played Sept. 19-25.

Sundholm averaged 3.72 kills on .261 hitting and 3.11 digs per set to lead the Titans to a 5-0 record during the week. Sundholm, who totaled 67 kills, 56 digs, 11 blocks, five assists and three service aces in 18 sets played, becomes the first Titan to garner WIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors since Samantha Jaeke in 2019 (Oct. 14-20).

During a 3-1 win at UW-Platteville, Sundholm had a match-high 14.5 points on a team-best 11 kills, two service aces and two blocks to go along with eight digs and a pair of assists.

Sundholm was then named to the North Park University (Ill.) Invitational All-Tournament Team, highlighted by a career-high 29 kills on .391 hitting, a career high-tying 18 digs and three blocks during a 3-2 victory over University of Chicago (Ill.). Sundholm also had a team-leading 10 kills, seven digs and three blocks in a 3-0 win versus Baldwin Wallace University (Ohio); eight kills, nine digs, two assists and two blocks during a 3-0 victory over Kean University (N.J.); and nine kills and 14 digs in a 3-0 sweep of invitational host North Park University.

Just six Titans have ever had more kills in a match than Sundholm did against Chicago. The double-double versus the Maroons was Sundholm's fourth this year and 12th career.
