UW-Oshkosh Announces Summer Volleyball Camp Dates

The UW-Oshkosh volleyball program is pleased to announce that it will be hosting six volleyball camps throughout the summer of 2017 to help both boys and girls reach their full potential and get ready for the upcoming high, middle or grade school season.

UW-Oshkosh starts things off with its Girls All-Skills Camp from June 12-15, 2017 that is geared for those entering grades 4-10 and will work on all aspects of volleyball. Coaches will give you helpful hints on serving, passing, setting and blocking, as well as hitting instruction on footwork and offensive strategies. Camp 1 will also include six-on-six drills and a team tournament. This camp will be divided into appropriate skill levels.

The Girls Competition Camp will be for those individuals that are entering grades 7-12. Held from July 5-7, 2017, Camp 2 offers a ton of playing time in six on six situations. There will also be advanced skill work on serving, passing, setting and blocking, hitting footwork and offensive strategies and one specific position session. We will do our best to place you on the same team if you are from the same club, middle school or high school. This camp will be divided into appropriate skill levels.

The Girls Elite Position Camp will give campers the opportunity to work in their individual volleyball position from July 12-14, 2017. Camp 3 participants will compete in drills covering serving and passing, play in a team tournament and get plenty of instruction in setting, middle blocking, right-side hitting, left-side hitting or playing back row. You decide! This camp is designed for experienced girls entering grades 7-12 who have a strong desire to increase their skill level in one or two volleyball positions. Girls with a strong volleyball background are encouraged to attend this camp. You will be divided by both skill level and age so every participant gets the most out of camp.

Camp 4 will be the Girls All-Skills Camp from July 17-20, 2017 and is geared for those participants entering grades 4-12. Coaches will give you helpful hints on serving, passing, setting and blocking, as well as hitting instruction on footwork and offensive strategies. This camp will also include six-on-six drills, a four on four tournament and a team tournament at the end of camp. This camp will be divided into appropriate skill levels.

Are you a young man entering grades 7-12 and looking for a challenging camp? Look no further than the Boys Individual and Team Camp held August 3-6, 2017. Camp 5 will include nine sessions of skill work, hitting strategies, specific position sessions, a four on four tournament and a team tournament. Participants from the same high school or club will be guaranteed to play together in the six-on-six tournament.

Last year there were 180 boys at camp! UW-Oshkosh has won ten collegiate club national championships in its history, including six at the Division I level. Come learn from the best! Group discount prices are available for this camp and each participant will receive a NCAA V5M5000-3N Men's Elite Competition ball as a camp gift.

In what has grown into UW-Oshkosh's most popular camp, the Girls Elite All-Skills & Team Camp will be offered August 9-12, 2017. For close to 30 years, UW-Oshkosh has offered this camp to freshmen, junior varsity and varsity teams and again will open it up to individuals as well to make it very challenging for everybody. Camp 6 is designed for elite girls entering grades 8-12 and will challenge participants in the areas of serving, passing, setting and blocking. The camp also offers lots of tournament play, team-building sessions and a host of activities that get you ready for the season. The camp will once again have its Survivor Series theme-based contests and challenges, skit night and volleyball drills to challenge the entire squad.

Hitting strategies such as quick attack and transition will be covered and at least one specific position session will be offered. The camp will also include a four-on-four tournament, a team tournament to showcase what you have learned and a camp all-star match.

Divided by both skill level and age, 225 girls attended this camp last summer with an 8:1 coach-to-camper ratio. UW-Oshkosh has facilities that include 14 courts to give participants plenty of room to work on skills to improve their game. Come and make some memories as you have fun on and off the court. Group discount prices are available for this camp.

The fee for the camps includes the cost of tuition, food and a camp gift. Air-conditioned housing with a microwave, freezer and refrigerator is also included if you are a resident. The resident hall, cafeteria and sports complexes are all within one block, and camp staff stays in the dorm to not only get to know you, but also to ensure that you are safe.

If you would like a camp brochure or have any questions, contact UW-Oshkosh head coach and camp director Brian Schaefer or assistant coach and assistant camp director Jon Ellmann at 920-424-1392 or schaefeb@uwosh.edu

Both our boys and girls team camps offer group discount prices. Please go to http://volleyball.uwoshkoshsportscamps.com for more information or to register online. Last summer the Titans had a record-tying 900 campers on campus!

"At UW-Oshkosh, I believe that we have built a tradition of providing a great experience for players of all skill levels," Schaefer said. "We take the time to get to know you so we can bring the best out of you on the court. My assistant coaches and I are in the gym to make sure you are getting the best instruction possible. I would like to have the opportunity to show you our brand of volleyball at UW-Oshkosh, and I hope to see you here this summer."
