Falcons Fly Out Of Titans' Reach

Erin Green totaled 24 kills and five blocks to give UW-River Falls a 3-0 victory over the UW-Oshkosh women's volleyball team on Saturday (Oct. 29) in River Falls.

The Falcons (16-17/3-5 WIAC) swept the match with set scores of 25-22, 25-13 and 25-20. UW-River Falls dominated right away with hitting percentages of .405 in the first game and .357 in the second. The Titans finish their regular season with an 18-17 (4-4 WIAC) record.

As Green hit .559, Danielle Gibbemeyer added a mark of .290 with 12 kills. Mackenzie Suda earned all 30 of the Falcons' assists. UW-River Falls totaled 54 digs, led by 15 from Courtney Preiner and 14 from Gibbemeyer.

UW-Oshkosh's hitting percentage was .111, and it got 10 kills from Jordyn Bratel (So. • Milwaukee). Kayla Powers (Jr. • Tomahawk) tacked on nine kills, while Morgan Liebetrau (Jr. • West Bend) booked all 30 Titan assists. Sarah Petermann (So. • Appleton) paced the visitors with 18 digs and Robyn Eggert (So. • Woodridge, Ill.) scooped 10 attempts.

The Titans will host UW-Platteville in round one of the WIAC Tournament on Tuesday (Nov.1) at 7 p.m.
