Titans Ward Off Blue Devils

UW-Oshkosh kept its hopes alive of hosting a WIAC Tournament match with its 3-1 victory over the UW-Stout women's volleyball team on Friday (Oct. 28) in Menomonie.

The Titans (18-6) improved their league record to 4-3 and remain tied for fourth in the conference. UW-Oshkosh took down the Blue Devils (5-22/1-6 WIAC) by scores of 25-20, 25-27, 25-15 and 28-26. During the fourth set, the Titans overcame a 20-13 deficit to leave with a win.

Morgan Liebetrau (Jr. • West Bend) posted all of her team's 49 assists, as UW-Oshkosh hit .253 on the night. Jordyn Bratel (So. • Milwaukee) topped the squad with 18 kills, while Morgan Nick (Fr. • Fond du Lac) slammed down 11. The Titans' 65 digs featured 19 by Sarah Petermann (So. • Appleton) and 13 from Bratel. Kayla Powers (Jr. • Tomahawk) assisted on five blocks at the net.

UW-Stout had three players with double-digit kills, led by 13 from Kate Mikutowski. Karley Wiensch compiled 39 assists, to go along with 18 digs by Megan Shanahan. The Blue Devils, who hit .217, also received 11 kills and four blocks from Morgan Denny.

UW-Oshkosh's final regular-season match will be at UW-River Falls on Saturday (Oct. 29).
