Titans Wipe Out Red Hawks, Eagles

Despite a one set hiccup, UW-Oshkosh had little trouble in its two women's volleyball matches with Ripon College and Edgewood College on Wednesday (Sept. 8) in Kolf Sports Center.

UW-Oshkosh (5-0) defeated Ripon College (1-4) in four sets (25-18, 25-16, 23-25, 25-19) and Edgewood College (1-3) in three (25-19, 25-20, 25-10).

All 17 available players saw court time in the Titans' eighth straight win over the Red Hawks. After dominating the first two sets, UW-Oshkosh trailed 24-17 in the third stanza before rattling off six straight points to inch to within 24-23. Ripon College capitalized on a UW-Oshkosh missed serve to extend the match.

The Titans responded by finishing off the fourth set by outscoring the Red Hawks 9-2 to end the match.

Jordyn Bratel (Fr. • Milwaukee) and Jenna Schwartz (Fr. • Watertown) led the Titans with six kills each. Aleisha Bagin (So. • West Bend) and Larissa Krumplitsch (So. • Appleton) added five kills and Sarah Petermann (Fr. • Appleton), Brittany Gruning (So. • Mukwonago), Andrea Felton (So. • New Berlin) and Andrea Smith (Sr. • Fond du Lac) added four.

Robyn Eggert (Fr. • Woodridge, Ill.) provided five service aces, Brittney Cote (Jr. • Orland Park, Ill.) scooped up 10 digs, Petermann seven and Eggert and Smith five. Felton provided 16 assists with Morgan Liebetrau (So. • West Bend) added 12. Krumplitsch and Petermann led the team with three blocks.

UW-Oshkosh remained undefeated all-time against Edgewood College (1-3), beating them for the 12th straight time, 10 of which have been three set sweeps. Smith provided eight kills, eight digs and three service aces and Cahoon chalked up 11 digs.

Bratel and Bagin each had seven kills and Felton contributed 23 assists and six kills. Gruning chipped in three service aces and three blocks.
