Bio

Brittany (Haas) Gibson ('13) has joined the UW-Oshkosh men’s and women’s cross country and track & field team as an assistant coach, as announced by cross country head coach and distance track & field coach Eamon McKenna. Gibson will specialize in distance events.

She graduated from Oshkosh in 2013, running for both the cross country and track & field teams, earning letters all four years in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track. She made appearances at the 2009 and 2010 NCAA national cross country meets, also being named to the All-WIAC team for indoor and outdoor track & field all four seasons. She was a member of the 2011 indoor and outdoor track & field national championship team.

Since graduating from Oshkosh, Gibson has served as the co-head cross country coach at Horace Mann High School since 2020, previously having served as assistant coach from 2017-19 and reestablished the Oakfield High School track & field team for the first time since the 1970s as the head coach in 2018.

McKenna said he is excited to work with someone that has deep connections to the programs.

"As a high-level former Titan competitor, she knows what it means to be a Titan and she will be fully invested in helping our student athletes succeed as runners, as students, as people, and as community members”, McKenna noted, continuing, “She will provide strong female leadership for all our athletes in programs where that has been the standard for many years.”

Gibson is looking forward to returning to her alma mater, and create positive relationships with student-athletes.

"I am beyond excited to be back, now as a Titan coach, and hope to have a positive and lasting impact on the program, as well as build meaningful connections with fellow coaches and current & prospective athletes, much like I did years ago."

Gibson began her duties on Nov. 28.
