Titans Race In Whitewater, Finish Fourth

WHITEWATER, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team finished fourth in the UW-Whitewater Midwest ELITE Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 10), scoring 60 points.

UW-La Crosse won the meet, scoring 173 points, Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) took second with 156.5 points and Loras College (Iowa) scored 75.5 points for third place to round out the top three teams.

In the middle distance events, Cyna Madigan (Jr. • Rosendale) took fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:15.30 and Olivia Stenzel (So. • Sturgeon Bay) took seventh in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.68 seconds.

Amelia Lehman (Jr. • Oshkosh) won the mile run with a time of 5:02.44.

Ella Kojis (So. • Waukesha) was the first of four Titan runners to take a top-eight spot in the 3,000-meter run with a second-place, 11:41.69 time. Dana Valdez-Berber (Fr. • Summit) took third in 11:46.21, Julia Strasser (Jr. • South Milwaukee) ran a 11:56.64 for fifth and Ella Galaszewski (So. • West Allis) finished eighth in 12:06.33.

Megan Hunt (Jr. • Lemont, Ill.) jumped 5.64 meters for third in the long jump.

Brenna Masloroff (Sr. • Franklin) threw 17.77 meters for second in the 20-lb. weight throw and 13.39 meters for fourth in the shot put.

The 4x400-meter relay squad of Maddy LaVoi (Fr. • Ankeny, Iowa), Stenzel, Julia Steger (Fr. • Kewaskum) and Madigan finished the event in 4:01.46 for fourth place.

The Titans will host their third and final meet of the season next Saturday (Feb. 17) at the Kolf Sports Center.
