Titans Earn Two All-Americas on Friday Afternoon, Add Another to Final Rounds

ROCHESTER, N.Y.- The UW-Oshkosh track and field teams competed in the second day of competition of the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday.

The 49th edition of the national meet is being held in Rochester at the Polisseni Track and Field Complex, hosted by St. John Fisher University (N.Y.) and the Rochester Sports Commission

UWO earned All-America nods in the decathlon in performances from Charlie Nolan (Fr./Normal, Ill.) and RJ Bosshart (Jr./Muskego).

Nolan, who entered the day with 3,615 points, finished the event with 6,657 points for seventh place. The freshman set personal season bests in the pole vault and 1,500-meter run and the team season best in the javelin throw with a mark of 155' (47.24m).

Bosshart finished in eighth with a personal best 6,614 points after starting the day with 3,521 points. His point total is the fourth-most in school history. He set individual season bests in the 110-meter hurdles, pole vault and 1,500-meter run.

In the preliminary round of the 800-meter run, Cyna Madigan (So./Rosendale) advanced to the final round on Friday afternoon with a personal record time of 2:09.79 for fourth place. Her finish ranks fifth all-time.

The Titans will return tomorrow (May 27) at 10 a.m. for the final day of the NCAA Championships, competing in the men's high jump, men's 3,000-meter steeplechase final, men's 4x100-meter relay final, men's triple jump, men's 1,500-meter run final, women's 1,500-meter run final, women's 800-meter run final and men's 200-meter dash final.
