Titans Advance to Five Finals in First Day of NCAA Championships

ROCHESTER, N.Y.- In the first day of the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the UW-Oshkosh track and field teams advanced to final rounds in five events.

The 49th edition of the national meet is being held in Rochester at the Polisseni Track and Field Complex, hosted by St. John Fisher University (N.Y.) and the Rochester Sports Commission

Londyn Little (So./Columbia, Ill.) qualified for the men's 200-meter final after placing sixth with a 21.30 second finish.

As one of 16 runners that broke the facility record, Steven Potter (Sr./Oak Creek) made it to the final round of the men's 1,500-meter run with a 3:48.24 time for seventh place.

Eighteen women also broke the facility record in the women's 1,500-meter run. Amelia Lehman (So./Oshkosh) qualified with a time of 4:29.84 for seventh place.

Jake Krause (So./Hortonville) grabbed the final spot in the final round of the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal record of 8:56.80 to move up to fourth in school history. Eighteen runners broke the facility record in the preliminary round.

The 4x100-meter squad was one of 14 schools to break the facility record in the preliminary round, qualifying for the final round with the second-fastest time of 40.63 seconds.

In the decathlon, Charlie Nolan (Fr./Normal, Ill.) sits in fourth with 3,615 points and RJ Bosshart (Jr./Muskego) is in ninth with 3,521 points. Nolan earned 740 points with a first place, 6' 4" (1.93m) finish in the high jump and 823 points from a personal season best 49.82 in the 400-meter dash for third place.

The Titans will return tomorrow (May 26) at 10 a.m. for the second day of the NCAA Championships, where they are set to compete in the men's pole vault, decathlon, and women's 800-meter run.
