Titans Headed to Augustana for Final Meet Before Nationals

OSHKOSH, Wis.- In the final week before the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships (May 25-27), the UW-Oshkosh women's track and field team holds both a top-10 #EventSquad and a top-10 national time.

The 800-meter run squad made up of sophomore Cyna Madigan, junior Libby Geisness and freshmen Josie Makurat and Olivia Stenzel remains in the top-10 this week with the ninth-fastest average finish in the nation at 2:16.23.

Individual National Rankings and Conference Leaders

Madigan is seventh in the nation in the 800-meter run with a 2:10.24 finish and sophomore Amelia Lehman leads the league with a 4:30.06 time in the 1,500-meter run.

Last Week's Highlights

Lehman's WIAC-leading 1,500-meter run time moved her to 10th in school history during the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Fighting Chance Invite. Junior Meygan Benzing also climbed the UWO all-time leaderboard in Joliet, running an 11:31.67 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for 11th. The Titans also sent heptathletes to the North Central College (Ill.) Cardinal Combined Events Qualifier. Sophomore Megan Hunt scored 4,402 points in the two-day meet for third place at the meet and moved from 12th to eighth in the heptathlon. She also took sole possession of the 16th-furthest long jump mark with a distance of 18' (5.49m).

The Titans will head to Augustana College (Ill.) for the Midwest Twilight on Thursday. The Midwest Twilight is set for 11 a.m.
