Titans to Start Outdoor Season on Saturday

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's track and field team will continue the 2023 season on Saturday, sending student-athletes to UW-Platteville for the Pioneer Opener and Washington University in St. Louis for the WashU Invite. 

The Titans finished the season with a third place finish at the WIAC Championships in Menomonie and a 34thplace finish at the NCAA Division III Championships in Birmingham, Ala. Four Oshkosh student-athletes earned All-WIAC honors and Brenna Masloroff was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.

During the national meet, three Titans were named All-Americans. Masloroff earned her nod in the 20-lb. weight throw with a sixth place finish. Amelia Lehman and Cyna Madigan each took eighth in the mile run and 800-meter run, respectively. 

Head coach Justin Kinseth brings back 34 letterwinners for the outdoor season.

The Titans will begin their season in Platteville and St. Louis before heading to UW-La Crosse for the Ashton May Invitational on April 7. They will return to Platteville for the UW-Platteville Invitational on April 14 and 15 and spend the following weekend in La Crosse for the Phil Esten Challenge.

The Titans will end April at the Drake University (Iowa) Relays from April 28-30 and also send student-athletes to UW-Eau Claire for the Dick & Mary Johnson Invitational on the 28th

The 11-time WIAC outdoor champion Titans will compete for their first title since 2011 at the 51st Women's WIAC Outdoor Championships from May 5-6 at UW-Whitewater. Oshkosh finished third at last year's meet in La Crosse with five event wins. 

Event winners at last year's meet included Alexandria Demco (800-meter run and 1,500-meter run), Ashton Keene (5,000-meter run and 10,000-meter run) and Cara Volz (javelin).

Oshkosh then travels to La Crosse for the Eagle Open on May 12 and La Crosse and Rock Island, Ill. on May 18 for the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier and Augustana College Midwest Twilight.

From May 25-27, the team will compete in the 41st NCAA Division III Women's Championships, held at the Polisseni Track and Field Complex in Rochester, N.Y. Oshkosh won their last outdoor national championship at the end of the 2011 season, completing the sweep of all four WIAC and NCAA Championship meets. Last year, Oshkosh placed 41st at the meet in Geneva, Ohio, collecting eight All-America honors.
