Keene Chosen As WIAC Track & Field Athlete Of The Week

UW-Oshkosh senior Ashton Keene was named one of the two Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Kwik Trip Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week award winners for meets held March 28-April 3.

Keene ran to a school record in the 10,000-meter run as UW-Oshkosh opened its 2022 outdoor season at the Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) Invitational held April 1-2.

Keene broke the UW-Oshkosh 10,000-meter run record with her third-place time of 35:43.87. Her performance among the event's 48 runners shattered the previous school record of 36:08.23 set by Hannah Kuenzi in 2016.

Emma Walter of Washington University in St. Louis won the 10,000-meter run with a time of 35:21.49 while Chloe Figgins of the University of Memphis (Tenn.) finished second in 35:35.90.

Gracie Holland of UW-Whitewater was named the WIAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
