UW-Oshkosh student-athletes Hannah Kuenzi and Caitlyn McCormick have been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) 2016 All-Academic Women's Track & Field Team.

The USTFCCCA honored 423 NCAA Division III student-athletes from 129 schools for their academic and athletic accomplishments, including McCormick who was recognized for the third consecutive year.

Kuenzi, a senior marketing major with a 3.80 GPA, placed ninth in the 10,000-meter run at the 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship. Her performance followed a winning effort in the same event at the 2016 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Outdoor Championship.

McCormick, a senior nursing major with a 3.35 GPA, was a member of UW-Oshkosh's 1,600-meter relay team that finished 14th at the NCAA Division III and second at the WIAC outdoor championships this past spring. She earned All-America honors as a member of UW-Oshkosh's 1,600-meter relay team at both the 2014 and 2015 NCAA indoor championships.

Amelia Glueck of Illinois Wesleyan University, Amy Regan of Stevens Institute of Technology (N.J.) and Melanie Winters of Baldwin Wallace University (Ohio) shared this year's USTFCCA Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award.

The University of Chicago (Ill.) earned a nation-best 19 All-Academic awards, while Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Nebraska Wesleyan University both followed with 13. The WIAC counted 51 All-Academic awards from its member institutions, including 11 by UW-Stout.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA's All-Academic Track & Field Team, student-athletes must own a minimum GPA of 3.30 and have either competed in an NCAA indoor or outdoor championship or finished the regular season ranked in the national top 35 of an individual event or in the national top 25 of a relay event on the official NCAA Proof of Performance list.

In the team category, UW-Oshkosh was among 175 schools recognized for earning a GPA of 3.10 or higher. Head coach Ben Dorsey's Titans compiled a 3.18 GPA during the 2016 season while placing 17th indoors and eighth outdoors at the NCAA Division III championships.

The USTFCCA selected Baldwin Wallace University as its Indoor Scholar Team of the Year and Illinois Wesleyan University as its Outdoor Scholar Team of the Year. Fontbonne University (Mo.) led all NCAA Division III schools with its 3.84 GPA.
