Titans Make Final Preparations For NCAA Championship

UW-Oshkosh's Alyssa Ryan qualified for the NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship and the Titans improved their seed times in a pair of events during meets held Thursday (May 19) in La Crosse and Rock Island, Ill.

Ryan made the national championship field in the pole vault with her third-place height of 12-3 1/2 at the UW-La Crosse Invitational. Ryan's season-best height will be seeded 21st among the field of 22 competitors at next weekend's (May 26-28) national meet in Waverly, Iowa.

UW-Oshkosh sprinters Becklyn Hunter and Emily Reichenberger improved their 200-meter times, as Hunter will be seeded second and Reichenberger eighth at the national championship.

Hunter won the 200-meter dash at the UW-La Crosse Invitational with a time of 24.23 seconds while Reichenberger was the runner-up in 24.52.

UW-Oshkosh also improved its national ranking in the 1,600-meter relay as Hunter, Caitlyn McCormick, Taylor Sherry and Kylee Verhasselt finished fourth in La Crosse with a time of 3:48.33. The mark is the eighth best in the country this season.

The Titans also received top-four finishes from Olivia Seeley in the 100-meter dash, Isabella Samuels in the shot put and Elizabeth Abhold in the hammer throw.

Seeley had a third-place time of 12.33 seconds in La Crosse while Samuels and Abhold had fourth-place distances of 43-7 and 172-3, respectively, at the Augustana College Twilight Invitational in Rock Island. Abhold will enter the national meet seeded fourth in the hammer throw with a season-best mark of 186-0.
