Verhasselt Named WIAC Track Athlete Of The Week

The WIAC named UW-Oshkosh's Kylee Verhasselt as one of its two Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week award winners for meets held April 11-17.

Verhasselt was chosen as the league's top track performer, while Amber Williams of UW-Platteville was selected as the conference's best field competitor.

In a field of 51 participants, Verhasselt claimed the 800-meter run title at the UW-Platteville Invitational held April 16.

Verhasselt won the race with a time of 2:10.05, a performance that now leads the conference and ranks sixth in the NCAA Division III this season.

Unattached Marcia Taddy finished second to Verhasselt with a time of 2:10.95 and Taylor Officer of Wartburg College (Iowa) third in 2:12.95. 

Verhasselt also ran on UW-Oshkosh's 1,600-meter relay team that finished ninth among 25 squads with a time of 4:00.61.

No team scores were kept at the UW-Platteville Invitational.
