Cazzola Wins Three Titles At NCAA Outdoor Championship
Christy Cazzola ended her spectacular career with three more individual titles, as UW-Oshkosh placed second at the NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship on May 22-24 in Delaware, Ohio.
Wartburg College (Iowa) scored 65 points to win the team crown, while the Titans totaled 63 for second. UW-Whitewater listed third with 44.5 and UW-La Crosse took fourth with 38.
Cazzola won her three races in a span of three hours. She captured the 800-meter run with a time of 2:05.23, the 1,500-meter event in 4:32.51 and the 5,000-meter competition in 16:29.96.
Cazzola became the first woman to win the 1,500-meter run four consecutive years. Her 800 time broke the national meet record, while her 5K mark set a school record. Cazzola finishes with 17 national championships – eight indoor track, eight outdoor track and one cross country.

Jecel Klotz also won an individual title, prevailing in the shot put with a distance of 50-8. Klotz previously captured the event during 2011.

In the 800-meter run, Kylee Verhasselt clocked a 2:07.05 for second place. Breanna Strupp then scored six points with her third-place discus mark of 152-5.
UW-Oshkosh boasted two other All-Americans. Melanie Brickner earned fourth in the hammer throw at 182-11, while Kasey Ederer ranked fifth in the high jump at 5-8.
The Titans finished second for the fifth time in six years. UW-Oshkosh owns nine outdoor national titles, including 2011.
