Titans to Wrap Up Regular Season on the Road

OSHKOSH, Wis.- Following one match against a team named the Falcons with another, the UW-Oshkosh Titans women's soccer team (4-8-5, 0-3-3 WIAC) wrap up the 2022 regular season against the UW-River Falls Falcons (9-6-4, 0-5-1) at Ramer Soccer Stadium at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Oshkosh dropped a 1-2 match in the rain at home against Concordia University (Wis.) on Tuesday. Gabby Born scored the first goal of the game at the end of the 26th minute, her fifth goal of the year. Selena Esten scored both Concordia goals in the second half. The Titan offense pushed the Concordia defense until the end of the match, with two shots on goal in the last three minutes but couldn't make it past goalkeeper Brooke Braga. Emma Sauriol faced seven shots on goal, saving five.

Titan Numbers

Goalkeeper Mallory Kerhin is second in the WIAC with 61 saves on the season, saving 5.55 shots per match. Freshman Greta Steines leads the Titans with six goals. Gabby Born, another freshman, is the team's top assister with five on the season. Kerhin has started ten games this season, splitting time with Emma Sauriol. Kerhin has allowed 15 goals, and has a .803 save percentage, allowing 1.43 goals per game. Sauriol has allowed twelve goals, and has a 0.657 save percentage, allowing 1.85 goals per game. 

Previewing the Falcons

River Falls dropped their match at Simpson College (Iowa) 0-4 on Tuesday. The Falcons had seven shots, and Kaylee Walter had the Falcons' sole shot on goal. Goalkeeper Grace Zellmer saved four shots the on eight she faced.

River Falls is second in the WIAC in goals per game at 2.105, allowing 1.59 goals per match. Lexi Peterson is tied for second in the league with eight assists. Maydson Shew leads the Falcons with six goals. Lexi Peterson leads in assists (8), points (16) and both shots (49) and shots on goal (26). Goalkeepers Kaylie Krueger and Grace Zellmer have split time between the posts this season. Krueger has a 1.57 goals allowed average and Zellmer has a 1.59 goals allowed average. Krueger holds the lead with a 0.761 save percentage and an even 3-3-3 record.
