Titans Set to Face Warhawks and Pointers

OSHKOSH, Wis.—The nationally-ranked UW-Oshkosh Titans (27-1, 4-0 WIAC) softball squad returns to WIAC action this weekend with games against UW-Whitewater (17-5, 5-1 WIAC) and UW-Stevens Point (15-7, 1-3 WIAC).

The Titans will host the Warhawks of UW-Whitewater on April 22 for a twin bill starting at 1 p.m. Saturday marks Alumni Day for the Titans as the team will honor any alums in attendance prior to the first game. Additionally, the Titans will honor Sharon Panske prior to the game.

The Titans start a road conference swing on April 23, traveling to UW-Stevens Point. The Titans and Pointers are set for first pitch at 1 p.m.

Titan Notes

The Titans are ranked at No. 16 in this week's National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll.

Looking in the national rankings, the Titans in earned run average (0.83) and win-loss percentage (0.964). The Titans are fourth in the nation for fielding percentage (0.980) and eighth for shutouts (10) and WHIP (0.93).

The Titans lead the WIAC in hits, batting average, runs, triples, RBIs, walks, and fielding percentage. The Titans' pitchers have held their opponents to a .181 batting average.

Hannah Ritter leads the Titans with a batting average of .500 and leads the team in hits (46). Ritter, Sydney Rau, Brianna Davis, and Gabby Buikema are hitting above .400 this season. Abby Garceau is second in the league for at bats (95) while Sophie Wery is in a three-way tie for most home runs this season in the league (6). Wery leads the league in RBIs (33) as Morgan Rau leads the league in walks (20).

Scheduling Note

Due to weather in the area, the Titans and Sabres of Marian University have postponed their doubleheader that was set for April 19. A makeup date has not been set by the teams.
