Eddie Muench, WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlight

Each week during the 2021-22 academic year, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference will feature two student-athletes (one male and one female) from one of its eight institutions for a "Student-Athlete Spotlight" Q & A segment. Why did you choose to attend UW-Oshkosh?
I grew up in Oshkosh, my cousin (Charlie Noone) played basketball at UW-Oshkosh, and I always admired the relationships he had with his teammates and coaches. After speaking with head coach Matt Lewis and touring the school, it was the easiest decision I have ever made in becoming a Titan.

What causes do you care about?
Jimmy V Foundation

What do you like most about competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and being a NCAA Division III student-athlete?
The WIAC is the most competitive league in the country and playing against some of the best Division III players in the country every game is what I enjoy the most.

Earning a trip to Madison for the WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament my senior year of high school.

Dancing skills.

Do you have any words of advice for younger/upcoming student-athletes?
Work hard, get your schoolwork done and have fun!

What is your favorite thing to do off the court/field with your teammates?
Go to dinner.

If you could trade places for a day with a person, who would it be and why?
The President – I would go to Area 51.

What is your dream job? 
Coach in the National Basketball Association.

Three things on your "bucket list"?
1. Go on an African Safari
2. Go in a shark cage
3. Go skydiving

Do you have any pre-game/pre-event superstitions or rituals? If so, what are they?
Drink beet juice.

What is your biggest "pet-peeve"?
Slow drivers.
