Titans to Compete at Eagle Open

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's track and field team will compete at the UW-La Crosse Eagle Open on Friday (May 12). This is the third time this outdoor season that UWO will compete at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.

Team National Ranking

While UWO remains unranked this week, WIAC competitors UW-La Crosse (No. 1), UW-Whitewater (No. 17) and UW-Eau Claire (No. 21) are all in Week Seven's Top-25.

#EventSquad Ranking

With a 2:16.23 average finish in the 800-meter run, Oshkosh squad made up of sophomore Cyna Madigan, junior Libby Geisness, and freshmen Josie Makurat and Olivia Stenzel ranks eighth nationally.

Individual National Ranking

Madigan's time of 2:10.24 in the 800-meter run is the fifth-fastest finish in the nation this season.

Last Week's Highlights

UWO finished the WIAC Championships fourth in the field of eight teams last weekend, scoring 62 points over the two-day meet.

Defending Zanzie Demco's WIAC title from last season, Madigan won the 800-meter run in 2:13.89 for her first career All-WIAC First Team nod. Sophomore Amelia Lehman and senior Mikayla Jackson earned All-WIAC Second Team honors in the 1,500-meter run and high jump. Earning All-WIAC Third Team were senior Rachel Castelli in the 200-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay squad. After the meet, senior Tricia Cich was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Where the Titans are Competing

The Titans are headed to UW-La Crosse on Friday (May 12) to compete in the Eagle Open. The meet is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
