Titans Finish Seventh in UW-Platteville Invitational
PLATTEVILLE, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's track and field team competed in the UW-Platteville Invitational on Friday (April 14), taking seventh out of 13 teams with 41 points.
Track Event Results
Freshman Jamie Catania won the 5,000-meter run with a 19:57.66 finish. Freshman Katie Krause also placed, taking sixth in 21:35.13. Also finishing in the top-17 were freshman Kate Haffner (21:52.95) and sophomore Liv Schwarm (22:26.20).
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, sophomore Katelyn Puetz grabbed eighth with a time of 13:35.11. Freshman Ella Galaszewski and sophomore Julia Strasser ran times of 13:50.85 and 14:13.05 outside the top-eight.
Senior Rachel Castelli and sophomore Molly Greeninger both qualified for the 100-meter dash finals. Castelli ran a 12.28 for sixth place and a personal career best to tie two for the 10th-fastest time in program history. Greeninger ran a 14.49 for eighth place.
In the 1,500-meter run, sophomore Cyna Madigan led the Titans with a second place, 4:47.86 finish. Freshman Devon Tomas grabbed eighth, running in 5:20.24. Outside the top-eight were freshman Grace Riedl (5:32.50), freshman Amanda Auleciems (5:43.43) and sophomore Lauren Young (5:44.35).
Junior Alaina Wagner finished the 400-meter dash in ninth with a team season best 1:00.38. Senior Erika Mullen also finished in the top-20, running a 1:03.98.
Junior Libby Geisness placed highest for Oshkosh in the 800-meter run with a 2:16.05 for third place. Freshman Josie Makurat followed in seventh, running the event in 2:18.54. Junior Meygan Benzing finished with a time of 2:22.95 and freshman Olivia Stenzel ran a 2:26.09.
In the 400-meter hurdles, sophomore Jayda Dobeck took 11th in 1:13.99
Castelli placed sixth in the 200-meter dash with a 25.48 second finish. It leads the team this season and is both a career best and the fourth-fastest finish in program history.
In the 5,000-meter run invitational, sophomore Amelia Lehman ran to 10th in 17:11.12.
The 4x400-meter relay squad took third, running a team season best 4:03.15.
Field Event Results
Junior Brenna Masloroff threw 154. 6" (47.10m) in the hammer throw for ninth place.
Junior Micky Barrette took second in the discus throw with a personal career best and team season leading cast of 142' (43.27m).
Castelli finished in the top-20 in the long jump with a best leap of 16' 7 1/2" (5.07m). Greeninger jumped 16' 4 1/2" (4.99m).
In the triple jump, freshman Haley Kanitz took ninth with a skip of 35' 0 3/4" (10.69m) for the best jump by a Titan this season.
As the first Titans to compete in the high jump this outdoor season, sophomore Megan Hunt finished with a height of 4' 11 3/4" (1.52m).
Kanitz took 12th in the pole vault with a team season best mark of 10' 0 1/2" (3.06m).

Looking Forward
The Titans will return to action on the road on Friday and Saturday (April 21-22), competing in the UW-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge. Events will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
