In Final Meets Before National Championships, Titans Win Six Events

RIPON, Wis./WARTBURG, Iowa- The UW-Oshkosh women's track and field team competed in their last meets before NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday. They traveled to Ripon College (Wis.) and Wartburg College (Iowa) to participate in the unscored meets, winning a combined six events.

Track Events at Ripon

In Ripon, senior Rachel Castelli won the 60-meter dash in 7.90 seconds as the only Titan in the race. She followed it up with another win in the 200-meter dash (25.86). 

Junior Alaina Wagner got in on the event wins with a 1:00.53 finish in the 400-meter dash. Sophomore Drue Polka took fifth with a time of 1:06.32. 

Field Events at Ripon

Junior Vanessa Jenneman finished the long jump in sixth with a best jump of 5.00 meters. 

In the pole vault, freshman Haley Kanitz finished in fifth with a 3.30-meter vault. 

Junior Brenna Masloroff and senior Katie Fruth grabbed the top two spots in the shot put with marks of 13.36 and 12.58 meters. Masloroff repeated in first with a 17.62-meter throw in the 20-lb. weight throw.

Track Events at Wartburg

Junior Libby Geisness took seventh in the 800-meter run with a finish of 2:14.86.

Sophomore Amelia Lehman won the mile run with a time of 4:56.97.

Looking Forward

The qualifiers for the national indoor championships will be announced on Sunday at 6 p.m. CT on NCAA.com. The Division III Championships will take place at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala. on March 10-11.
