Titan Women Place Third in Conference Meet

MENOMONIE, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's track and field team finished third in the two-day WIAC Championships hosted by UW-Stout. They finished with 65 points behind UW-La Crosse with 324 points and UW-Eau Claire with 116 points. 

UW-Whitewater took fourth (54) and UW-Stout grabbed fifth (37), followed by UW-Stevens Point (31), UW-River Falls (23) and UW-Platteville (11).

Track Events

Sophomore Amelia Lehman took home All-WIAC Second Team honors with a second place finish in the mile run on Friday with a time of 5:00.83, setting a new season best for the team and putting her at 10th in program history. Freshman Josie Makurat placed fifth in a personal season best 5:05.47.

Junior Cyna Madigan finished fifth in the 400-meter dash with a finish of 59.41 and the distance medley relay squad took sixth with a time of 12:48.90, the Titans fastest time this season.

Sophomores Andrea Glaz and Molly Greeninger took seventh and eighth in the 60-meter dash with times of 7.92 and 7.94 seconds, respectively. 

Madigan earned All-WIAC Third Team with a third place finish in the 800-meter run, finishing in 2:13.78. Senior Libby Geisness and Makurat took fifth and eighth with times of 2:15.23 and 2:18.52, respectively.

In the 200-meter dash, senior Rachel Castelli and Glaz finish seventh and eighth. They ran times of 25.93 and 26.03 seconds.

Lehman finished fourth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:11.89 and the 4x400-meter relay team took fourth, running in a team season best 4:03.59.

Field Events

In the long jump, Vanessa Jenneman finished with a best jump of 5.05 meters.

Junior Brenna Masloroff's 12.94-meter effort in the shot put grabbed her a sixth place finish. Masloroff earned All-WIAC Second Team in the 20-lb. weight throw with an 18.09-meter effort

Freshman Haley Kanitz took third, earning All-WIAC Third Team in the triple jump with a team season best 11.17-meter mark.

Multi Events

Junior Anna Bubolz finished the pentathlon with 2,737 points and top-eight finishes in the high jump (1.50 meters) and long jump (4.83 meters). Sophomore Megan Hunt accumulated 2,735 points and a top-eight jump in the long jump with a mark of 4.85 meters.

Post-Meet Awards

Masloroff was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team after the meet concluded.

The Titans return to action on Saturday, March 4 to compete in the Ripon College Final Qualifier.
