Titans Hold Two Top-Five #EventSquad Rankings Heading into WIAC Championships

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's track and field team holds two top-five #EventSquad rankings and two top-10 marks in the nation heading into the WIAC Championships on Friday and Saturday.

#EventSquad Rankings

Sophomore Cyna Madigan, junior Libby Geisness, freshman Josie Makurat and junior Meygan Benzing make up the 800-meter run squad that ranks fourth in the nation. The 20-lb. weight throw squad sits at fifth with a 16.11-meter average. Junior Brenna Masloroff, sophomore Bobbi Blahnik, junior Micky Barrette and senior Katie Fruth are all members of the squad.

Individual National Rankings

Madigan ranks eighth in the nation this season in the 800-meter run with a season best time of 2:12.30. Masloroff also sits in the top-10 at five in the weight throw, setting a mark of 18.28 meters.

Last Week's Highlights

Six event wins pushed the Titans to first in the Titan Challenge at Kolf Sports Center last Saturday. Madigan set a team season best in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.98 seconds. Senior Rachel Castelli grabbed first in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 26.05 seconds. In the 3,000-meter run, sophomore Amelia Lehman took first, running the event in 10:02.73. The time set a new season best for the team and ranks eighth in program history. The distance medley relay and 4x400-meter relay squads each took first with 14:22.93 and 4:12.33 finishes, respectively. Masloroff set a new team season best in the weight throw in a mark of 18.28 meters.

Where the Titans are Competing

The Titans head to Menomonie on Friday to compete in the two-day WIAC Indoor Championships, hosted by UW-Stout. Friday will start at 11:30 a.m. and Saturday will start at 10:00 a.m.
