With Four Top-Five #EventSquads, Titans Will Host Titan Challenge Saturday

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's track and field team earned No. 24 in the nation, holds four top-five #EventSquad rankings and two top-six marks in the nation in this week's review of national rankings.

Team National Ranking

The Titans rank 24th in USTFCCCA's fourth weekly poll of the indoor season. Other WIAC competitors UW-La Crosse (No. 1), UW-Eau Claire (No. 9) and UW-Whitewater (No. 16) were also ranked.

#EventSquad Rankings

The Titans own four top-five #EventSquads in this week's poll. In the 800-meter run, sophomore Cyna Madigan, junior Libby Geisness, freshman Josie Makurat and junior Meygan Benzing average a 2:16.97 finish, ranking fourth nationally.

Junior Brenna Masloroff, sophomore Bobbi Blahnik, junior Micky Barrette and senior Katie Fruth rank fourth in the 20-lb. weight throw with an average throw of 16.02 meters.

The Titans rank fifth with a 7.86 second average in the 60-meter dash, with senior Rachel Castelli, sophomores Andrea Glaz and Molly Greeninger and senior Mikayla Jackson making up the squad.

With a fifth place ranking in the shot put, Fruth, Masloroff, Blahnik and Barrette average a throw of 12.72 meters.

Individual National Rankings

Masloroff ranks fourth nationally in the weight throw with an 18.06-meter mark, which also ranks eighth in program history. With an adjusted 2:12.30 finish in the 800-meter run, Madigan sits at sixth.

Oshkosh placed fifth in UW-Whitewater's Midwest Elite Invitational, scoring 32 points. 

Where the Titans are Competing

The Titans host their second indoor meet of the season Saturday, Feb. 17 in Kolf Sports Center. The Titan Challenge starts at 10:15 a.m.
