Titans Place Fifth in Midwest Elite Invitational
WHITEWATER, Wis.- The No. 23 nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh women's track and field team placed fifth of eight teams, scoring 32 points in the UW-Whitewater Midwest Elite Invitational on Saturday.
They competed against athletes from Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.), UW-La Crosse, UW-Whitewater, Loras College (Iowa), UW-Stevens Point, Trine University (Ind.) and Carthage College (Wis.).
Track Events
As the only runner from Oshkosh to make it to the final round, sophomore Andrea Glaz finished eighth with a time of 8.03 seconds.
Sophomore Cyna Madigan took fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:13.82.
In the mile run, freshman Josie Makurat grabbed fifth in 5:09.41 as the only Titan to finish in the top-eight.
Madigan, junior Libby Geisness, freshman Olivia Stenzel and Makurat finished sixth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:05.92, setting a new best time for the Titans on the season.
Field Events
Junior Vanessa Jenneman took sixth in the long jump with a best mark of 5.10 meters.
In the shot put, junior Brenna Masloroff finished with a mark of 13.22 meters, good for third before winning the 20-lb. weight throw with a throw of 18.06 meters with set a new season best in the event for the team.

The Titans return to action on Saturday, Feb. 18 at home to host the Titan Challenge, starting at 10:15 a.m.
