Nationally Ranked Titans Win Red Hawk Invite

RIPON, Wis.- The No. 17 UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team finished first in the Ripon College Red Hawk Invite on Saturday, scoring 159 points, and winning six events. They have won all three of the scored meets they have competed in this season.

Ripon took second with a score of 118 points, followed by St. Norbert College (Wis.) (114), Viterbo University (Wis.) (109) and Lawrence University (Wis.) (51) in the top-five.

Track Events

Senior Kyra Huber was the only Titan to run in the 60-meter dash finals, finishing in 8.30 seconds and placing fifth.

In the 200-meter dash, senior Rachel Castelli won the event with a time of 26.58 seconds. Sophomore Andrea Glaz took fourth (27.12) and senior Mikayla Jackson took sixth (27.22).

Junior Vanessa Jenneman was the top Titan finisher in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.73. Glaz followed in fifth with a time of 1:03.32 and sophomore Molly Greeninger took eighth with a time of 1:03.96.

Sophomore Cyna Madigan grabbed the 600-meter run crown with a time of 1:35.17. Her time was good for a school record, besting the previous record time of more than a second and a half. Junior Libby Geisness took second (1:38.57), freshman Olivia Stenzel took fourth (1:43.97), freshman Grace Riedl took fifth (1:48.46) and sophomore Drue Polka took sixth (1:51.25).

In the mile run, sophomore Amelia Lehman won in 5:11.19. Freshman Josie Makurat took second in a time of 5:14.97, followed by junior Meygan Benzing in seventh with a finish of 5:29.07.

Junior Lauren Urban took first in the 3,000-meter run in 11:40.25, followed in second by junior Tricia Cich (11:42.37).

Oshkosh won the 4x00-meter relay with a time of 4:15.86.

Field Events

Freshman Haley Kanitz tied for third in the pole vault with a 3.20-meter mark and took second in the triple jump with a season-best 11.09-meter mark, leading Oshkosh on the year.

Junior Brenna Masloroff won the shot put with a best throw of 13.52 meters. It was a Titan season-leading effort, beating her previous best of 13.51 meters. Senior Katie Fruth took second (12.06) and sophomore Bobbi Blahnik took seventh (10.86).

In the 20-lb. weight throw, Masloroff led all Division III finishers with a 17.30-meter throw, taking second after Wisconsin's Olivia Roberts. Blahnik took third with a 15.22-meter mark.

Looking Forward

The Titans return to action on Feb. 11 to compete in the UW-Whitewater Elite Invitational, which starts at 11 a.m.
