Titans Open Rankings with No. 11 Spot; Compete in Warren Bowlus Open Over Weekend

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team earned eleventh in the nation in Division III in the first national ranking of the season.

Team National Ranking

The Titans were ranked No. 11 in the nation (69.48 points) on Tuesday when USTFCCCA released their first poll of the season. WIAC competitors UW-La Crosse (2) and UW-Whitewater (19) were also ranked.

Individual National Rankings

Three Titans hold top-10 finishes in the nation this season. Cyna Madigan ranks second nationally with a 2:12.60 time in the 800-meter run. Breanna Masloroff ranks fourth in the 20-lb. weight throw (17.74-meters) and ninth in the shot put (13.51-meters). She is joined in the shot put by Katie Fruth (eighth) who threw 13.64 meters in the Red Hawk Opener.

Last Week's Highlights

The Titans competed in the Ripon College Red Hawk Opener on Saturday, Jan. 21, winning six events in the unscored meet. Cyna Madigan won the 400-meter dash in 59.27 seconds. Josie Makurat finished the 800-meter run in 2:20.52, winning the event. The 4x400-meter relay team won the race in 4:18.25. Vanessa Jenneman took first in the long jump with a mark of 5.04 meters and Haley Kanitz won the triple jump with a best jump of 10.57 meters. Kanitz also took first in the pole vault (2.90 meters). Brenna Masloroff took the top spot by a Division III thrower with a 17.21-meter throw in the 20-lb. weight throw. Katie Fruth did the same in the shot put with a 13.64-meter mark.

Where the Titans are Competing

Oshkosh is headed to Menomonie on Friday and Saturday to participate in the annual Warren Bowlus Open hosted by UW-Stout.
