Great Finishes Lead Titans to Win at Home

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team won the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational, scoring 244.0 points with six-of-15 event wins.

Northern Michigan University took second (101.0 pts.), Viterbo University (Wis.) took third (67 pts.), Carroll University (Wis.) took fourth (31.0 pts.) and Auburn University (Ala.) took fifth (28.0 pts.).

Track Events

In the 3,000-meter run, Gracie Buchinger was Oshkosh's top finisher with a time of 11:10.47, taking third place. Sydney Fricke took fifth with a 11:32.56 finish. Talon Prusi (Northern Mich.) won the event in 10:59.34.

Rachel Ehrhart (Edgewood) won the mile run, finishing in 5:03.26. Amelia Lehman took second with a 5:03.55 finish. Devon Tomas and Katelyn Puetz took fourth and eighth, respectively.

The Titans took the top three spots in the 400-meter run. Alaina Wagner finished in 1:01.53, Vanessa Jenneman finished in 1:02.09 and Erika Mullen finished in 1:05.09.

Ellyse Wolfrath (Northern Mich.) won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.82 seconds. Riley Kindt took second (8.98) and Megan Hunt took eighth (9.82).   

Rachel Castelli won the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.79, fifth in the program's history. Andrea Glaz took second with a 7.82, good for seventh in school history. Molly Greeninger took third (7.87) and Mikayla Jackson took fifth (7.96).

In the 800-meter run, Cyna Madigan took first with a 2:14.56 finish. Meygan Benzing (2:22.38), Josie Makurat (2:22.53), Olivia Stenzel (2:25.66), Paige Hagner (2:32.90) and Grace Riedl (2:36.27) took second through sixth.

Jackson won the 200-meter dash with a 26.08. Glaz took second (26.12) and Castelli took third (26.39). Greeninger (26.80), Kyra Huber (27.02), Liz Hren (27.11) and Jayda Dobeck (27.45) rounded out the top-eight.

Lauren Urban ran a 19:27.00 to win the 5,000-meter run. Tricia Cich took second with a 19:50.05 and Gwen Feitl took third with a 20:07.71.

Stenzel, Wagner, Makurat and Madigan won the 4x400-meter relay with a 4:06.93 finish. Mullen, Benzing, Riedl and Ella Galaszewski took fourth (4:28.13) and Urban, Cich, Hagner and Tomas took seventh (4:50.86).

Field Events

Mackenzie Gruner (Northern Mich.) won the high jump with a 1.54-meter mark. Aimee Footit led the Titans with a 1.49-meter finish, good for fifth place.

Leah Root (Northern Mich.) won the pole vault with a high vault of 3.57 meters. Haley Kanitz was the Titans' top finisher with a fourth place 3.27-meter vault. 

Lana Yeakel (Viterbo) won the long jump with a mark of 5.36 meters. Anna Bubolz took second (5.33), Jenneman took third (5.27) and Kindt took fourth (5.20). Hunt (4.99) and Taylor Christensen (4.52) took sixth and eighth, respectively.

Anna Kattou (Northern Mich.) won the triple jump with a mark of 11.24 meters. Kanitz (10.82), Kindt (10.70) and Wagner (9.40) took third through fifth.

Madi Malone (Auburn) won the 20-lb. weight throw with a mark of 21.60 meters. Brenna Masloroff took third after another Auburn thrower with a 17.74-meter throw. Bobbi Blahnik (15.72) and Micky Barrette (15.51) took sixth and seventh, respectively.

Maura Huwalt (Auburn) won the shot put, recording a 16.32-meter throw. Masloroff was the Titans' top finisher, taking fourth with a 13.49-meter mark. Katie Fruth was also in the top-eight with a 13.39-meter throw for fifth place.
