Dobberstein Named WIAC x Kwik Trip Indoor Track & Field Newcomer Of The Year

MADISON, Wis.- Cavan Dobberstein was named the WIAC x Kwik Trip Indoor Track & Field Newcomer of the Year on Monday afternoon (Mar. 4).

Dobberstein (Fr. • Manawa) took second in the heptathlon at the indoor conference meet with 4,867 points. The performance ranks seventh on both the UW-Oshkosh and WIAC Honor Rolls. A newcomer is defined as a student-athlete who used his first season of participation in men's indoor track & field this season. Transfers are not eligible unless they didn't participate in men's indoor track & field at their previous institution.

Dobberstein is the second winner of the Newcomer of the Year award. Jaylen Grant earned the honor in 2020.

UW-La Crosse took home the Coaching Staff of the Year and Track Performer of the Meet awards and UW-Eau Claire's Yakub Ekoue was tabbed Field Performer of the Meet.
