Titans Compete At Final Qualifiers

LA CROSSE, Wis./RIPON, Wis./WARTBURG, Iowa- The UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team competed at final qualifiers at UW-La Crosse, Ripon College and Wartburg College (Iowa) on Friday and Saturday (Mar. 1-2).

Gavin Fritsch (So. • Little Chute) won the 35-lb. weight throw and took second in the shot put in Ripon with marks of 17.44 and 15.03 meters, respectively. Isaiah Isom (So. • Lansing, Ill.) threw 16.65 meters to win the shot put. Jake Buss (Fr. • Poynette) took second with a 17.14-meter throw and Kieran Maude (So. • Palatine, Ill.) finished the shot put in third with a 15.68-meter mark.

JV Myles (Fr. • Germantown) skipped 14.06 meters for second in the triple jump, followed in fourth by Ben Lissa (Fr. • East Moline, Ill.) at 13.61 meters.

Ethan Stukenberg (Fr. • Edwardsville, Ill.) finished the pole vault with a 4.42-meter height.

In the 800-meter run, Nick Vey (So. • Oshkosh) ran a 1:59.49 for second and Owen Bostwick (So. • Whitefish Bay) took fourth in 2:00.70.

Caiden Hoeppner (So. • Wausau) ran a 51.33 in the 400-meter dash for second place.

In La Crosse, Matthew Ewens (So. • New Berlin) jumped 1.89 meters in the high jump and Bryce Smith (Fr. • West De Pere) jumped 1.84 meters for third and fourth.

Rashaad Henderson (Sr. • Racine), Lucas Koerselman (Fr. • West Des Moines, Iowa), Matthew Eiden (Fr. • Stevens Point) and Devin Williams (So. • Oshkosh) raced a 3:17.61 for third in the 4x400-meter relay.

Nolan Milas (Fr. • Virgil, Ill.) ran a 22.23 for sixth in the 200-meter dash and Weston Lerdal (Jr. • Neenah) ran in the 400-meter dash, taking seventh in 50.44 seconds.

Dwight Hosni (Jr. • Cedarburg) and Jason Ford (Sr. • Verona) each took eighth in the 800- and 3,000-meter runs at Wartburg in times of 1:54.78 ad 8:34.65, respectively.

The NCAA will announce this year's qualifiers for the Division III Indoor Championship on Sunday evening (Mar. 3) on NCAA.com. This year's national meet will take place in Virginia Beach, Virginia on March 8-9.
