Titans Welcome Back Alumni At Dave Weidemann Meet

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team won 10 events in the Dave Weidemann Alumni & Friends Invitational at the Kolf Sports Center on Saturday (Jan. 27).

Lawrence University, coached by UW-Oshkosh alum Jason Fast, also competed in the meet.

Paul Proteau (So. • Riverside, Ill.) won the 3,000-meter run with an 8:42.48. Jason Ford (Sr. • Verona) followed with an 8:44.96 for third place.

Trent Chadwick finished second in the mile run in 4:31.37, joined in the top-three by Brady Lewis (Fr. • Cedarburg), who raced a 4:33.49.

The top-eight spots of the 400-meter dash went to the Titans, who were led by Rashaad Henderson (Sr. • Racine) at 50.29 seconds. Lucas Koerselman (Fr. • West Des Moines, Iowa) ran a 50.60 for second and Weston Lerdal (Jr. • Neenah) finished third with a 50.75. Caiden Hoeppner (So. • Wausau), Devin Williams (So. • Oshkosh), Reid Marquardt (Sr. • Peshtigo), Dylan Gramley (So. • Plainfield, Ill.) and Nolan Milas (Fr. • Virgil, Ill.) finished in order for the following six spots.

UW-Oshkosh runners qualified for all eight positions in the final round of the 60-meter dash. Danny Vinson (Jr. • Berrien Springs, Mich.) ran the 10th-fastest time in program history at 6.87 seconds to win the event. Joey Kean (Sr. • Middleton) and Londyn Little (Jr. • Columbia) grabbed second and third in 6.94 and 6.95 seconds, respectively.

After alumni Steven Potter won the 800-meter run, Nick Vey (So. • Oshkosh) finished in 1:58.52 for second and Jett Breed (Fr. • Oswego, Ill.) ran a 1:58.72 for third.

Matthew Eiden (Fr. • Stevens Point) grabbed the top spot in the 200-meter dash with a 22.47-second time. Joshua Rivers (Sr. • Chicago, Ill.) followed in second at 22.74 seconds and Weston Lerdal (Jr. • Neenah) took third in 22.76 seconds. Emmitt Krauter (Fr. • Sheboygan Falls), Caleb Wright (So. • Oswego, Ill.), Koerselman and Vinson finished fourth through seventh.

Dwight Hosni (Jr. • Cedarburg), Marquardt, Vey and Cameron Cullen (So. • Kewaunee) finished the 4x400-meter relay in 3:32.80 for first place. Breed, Lucas Nicholson (Fr. • Pewaukee), Zach Nelson (Jr. • Mount Horeb) and Alex Peterson (Fr. • Gillett) took third with a 3:42.12 finish.

Caleb Cornelius (Jr. • Racine) cleared the high jump with a nation-leading mark of 2.10 meters. Charlie Nolan (So. • Normal, Ill.) followed in second at 2.04 meters while Kyle Wisniewski (Fr. • New London) jumped 2.01 meters for third.

Ethan Stukenberg (Fr. • Edwardsville, Ill.) finished the pole vault with a best height of 4.48 meters that netted him first on the event. Bryce Smith (Fr. • West De Pere) and Cole Spanbauer (So. • Oshkosh) each vaulted 3.13 meters for a third-place tie with Lawrence's Nyhan O'Sullivan.

Rivers was the first of seven UW-Oshkosh jumpers to finish the long jump in order with a mark of 7.23 meters. Elijah McCauley (So. • Belleville, Ill.) cleared 6.93 meters and Nolan had a best jump of 6.76 meters. Wright, Payton White (Sr. • Berrien Springs, Mich.), RJ Bosshart (Sr. • Muskego) and Aden Sears (Jr. • Eureka, Ill.) finished in the next four positions.

JV Myles (Fr. • Germantown) finished the triple jump with a 14.10-meter distance for second place.

Seven Titans finished in order in the 35-lb. weight throw, led by a 16.00 cast by Jake Buss (Fr. • Poynette). Gavin Fritsch (So. • Little Chute) threw 15.82 meters for second and was followed by Steven Wauer (So. • Muskego) in third with a best distance of 15.64 meters. Cameron Bendixen (So. • DeForest), Isaiah Isom (So. • Lansing, Ill.), Bryce Hale (Fr. • Kimberly) and Jacob Fritsch (So. • Little Chute) took fourth through seventh.

Isom won the shot put, throwing 14.99 meters. Kieran Maude (So. • Palatine, Ill.) placed second at 14.78 meters and Buss rounded out the top-three at 14.57 meters. Gavin Fritsch, Bendixen, Jacob Fritsch, Wauer and Hale filled out the following five positions.

The Titans will travel to two meets next Saturday (Feb. 3), the Olivet Nazerene University (Ill.) Walter Cramer Invitational and Ripon College Red Hawk Invite.
