Titans Hold Nine Top-Five #EventSquads, Set to Host Titan Challenge

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh men's track and field team was ranked No. 3 in the nation, holds nine top-five #EventSquad rankings and 10 top-10 marks including a national leader in this week's review of national rankings.

Team National Ranking

The Titans rank third for the second week in a row after USTFCCCA release the fourth weekly poll of the indoor season. Other WIAC competitors UW-La Crosse (No. 2), UW-Eau Claire (No. 9) and UW-Whitewater (No. 11) were also ranked.

#EventSquad Rankings

Oshkosh added the mile run to their list of top-five #EventSquad rankings, making for nine this week. In the 60-meter dash, sophomore Davian Willems, senior Jaylen Grant, sophomore Londyn Little and sophomore Keegan Cullison average a 6.84 second finish, ranking first in the nation. Averaging 1.97 meters in the high jump, junior Charlie Nolan, sophomore Caleb Cornelius and freshmen Matthew Ewens and Aden Sears rank first. The triple jump is the third Oshkosh event that ranks first, averaging 14.11 meters. Senior Jonathan Wilburn, Nolan, junior Elijah Pena, and freshman Caleb Wright make up the squad. Ranking second with an average finish of 1:52.31, with sophomore Ryan Potter, senior Steven Potter, sophomore Dwight Hosni and junior Reid Marquardt making up the squad. Freshman Sebastian Jefferson, junior RJ Bosshart, sophomore AK Toheeb-Lawal and senior Jamyle Brantley combine for an average of 6.98 meters in the long jump, ranking second. In the first of two events ranking third, Little, junior Rashaad Henderson, Grant, and sophomore Devin Williams average 21.99 seconds in the 200-meter dash. The heptathlon also ranks third in the heptathlon, with squad members Bosshart, Sears, Ewens and junior Payton White averaging 4,577 points. The mile run joined the Titans' top-five #EventSquads this week, with Steven Potter, sophomore Jake Krause, senior Andrew Rathkamp and Hosni averaging a 4:11.56 finish.

Individual National Rankings

Wilburn leads the nation with a 15.20-meter mark in the triple jump. Willems' program record 6.72 second finish in the 60-meter sits third. Bosshart and Sears rank fifth and sixth in the heptathlon with adjusted scores of 4,918 and 4,896 points, respectively. Little ranks sixth in the 200-meter dash with an adjusted finish of 21.49 seconds. Steven Potter's adjusted 4:04.76 time in the mile run ranks eighth. Senior Eli Tranel and sophomore Zach Zirgibel both rank in the top-10 with vaults of 5.00 and 4.90 meters, respectively. Ryan Potter ranks 10thin the 800-meter run with an adjusted 4:04.76 time and Nolan ranks 10th with a 2.04-meter jump.

Last Week's Highlights

Oshkosh won the UW-Whitewater Midwest Elite Invitational, taking first in their fourth scored meet this season with 120 points. Steven Potter won the mile run in a time of 4:07.88, setting a new season best for the team and landing on the top-10 list. Tranel and Zirgibel each finished the pole vault with marks of 4.74 meters with Tranel winning the tiebreaker. Junior Max Schoening set a new season high for the team in the weight throw with a 16.00-meter throw. He took seventh in the event.

Where the Titans are Competing

The Titans host their second indoor meet of the season Saturday, Feb. 17 in Kolf Sports Center. The Titan Challenge starts at 10:15 a.m.
