Titans Win Fourth Meet of Season in Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Wis.- The No. 3 nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh men's track and field team took first, scoring 120 points in the UW-Whitewater Midwest Elite Invitational on Saturday. 

They competed against athletes from Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.), UW-La Crosse, UW-Whitewater, Loras College (Iowa), UW-Stevens Point, Trine University (Ind.) and Carthage College (Wis.).

Track Events

Sophomore Keegan Cullison led the Titans with a 6.89 second finish in the 60-meter dash, taking second. Freshman Ja'siah Williams and senior Denzel Thomas each finished in 6.91 seconds. Junior Joey Kean (6.99), senior Jaylen Grant (7.00) and sophomore Londyn Little (7.02) took sixth through eighth.

As the only Titan to run in the final round of the 60-meter hurdles, junior Elijah Pena finished in fifth with an 8.55 second time. 

Ja'siah Williams took eighth in the 200-meter dash in 23.01 seconds.  An honorable mention finish, sophomore Weston Lerdal finished ninth with a 23.06 second finish.

The Titans finished in the top three spots in the 400-meter dash. Freshman Devin Williams grabbed the crown in 49.94 seconds, followed by Little in second with a 50.02 second time and sophomore Ryan Potter in third in 50.24 seconds. Also finishing in the top-eight were junior John Ford in sixth (50.83) and freshman Fenyx Morningdove in eighth (50.90).

Junior Reid Marquardt took sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.25.

Senior Steven Potter won the mile run in 4:07.88, setting a new season-best for Oshkosh.

Field Events

In the high jump, freshman Charlie Nolan took third with a best of 2.00 meters. 

Sophomore AK Toheeb-Lawal grabbed second in the long jump with a mark of 6.94 meters, followed by freshman Caleb Wright with a 6.74-meter mark. 

Nolan finished the triple jump in sixth place with a mark of 13.76 meters.

Oshkosh took a tie for first in the pole vault with best marks of 4.74 meters from senior Eli Tranel and sophomore Zach Zirgibel.

Freshman Kieran Maude led the Titans with a third place finish in the shot put with a 15.17-meter throw. Freshman Isaiah Isom took seventh (14.51) and senior Tay'Jion Johnson took eighth (14.25).

In the 35-lb. weight throw, junior Max Schoening took seventh with a throw of 16.00 meters, setting a season-high for the Titans.

The Titans return to action on Saturday, Feb. 18 at home to host the Titan Challenge, starting at 10:15 a.m.
