Titans Race to Win at Home

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team won their second meet in as many weeks at home in the Early Bird Invitational. The Titans took 10 of the 15 events, scoring 293.5 points in their win. 

Carroll University (Wis.) took second (69.0 pts.), Viterbo University (Wis.) took third (51.5 pts.), Ripon College (Wis.) took fourth (50.5 pts.) and Auburn University (Ala.) took fifth (31.0 pts.).

Track Events

Oshkosh had the top four finishes in the 3,000-meter run. Andrew Rathkamp took first with an 8:32.00 finish. Andrew George (second, 8:44.94), Cameron Cullen (third, 8:52.59) and Trent Chadwick (fourth, 8:54.54) rounded out Titan finishers.

Eduardo Neri won the mile run, finishing in 4:34.50 as the only Titan in the race.

Elijah Pena took the 400-meter dash crown with a 50.39 finish. Jelani Lawson took third (51.11), Rashaad Henderson took fourth (51.61), Weston Lerdal took fifth (51.66), Fenyx Morningdove took sixth (51.92) and Damareyon Taylor took seventh (53.80).

Peter Marra (Carroll) took first in the 60-meter hurdles with an 8.38 second finish. Michael Campbell took second with an 8.97 second finish. Pena (9.06) and Matthew Ewens (9.21) took fourth and fifth, respectively. 

Seven of the eight 60-meter dash runners ran for Oshkosh. Jaylen Grant ran a 6.84, sixth all-time for Oshkosh. Londyn Little (6.89), Denzel Thomas (6.90), Keegan Cullison (6.91), Danny Vinson (6.92) and Aaron Richardson (6.96) took the next five places. Davian Willems also raced Saturday.

The Titans took all seven places in the 800-meter run. Ryan Potter won in 1:53.16, setting a personal-best, breaking his previous number 10 all-time record. Steven Potter took second (1:53.30), Dwight Hosni took third (1:54.35), Redi Marquardt took fourth (1:54.83), Nick Vey took fifth (1:59.98), Owen Bostwick took sixth (2:04.02) and Neri took seventh (2:09.11).

In the 200-meter dash, Little took first in 21.87 seconds, third in program history. The Titans also took fifth to eighth, with Dylan Gramley (23.04), Danny Vinson (23.05), Caiden Hoeppner (23.09) and Cullison (23.24) running. 

Joe Kehoe took the 5,000-meter run crown with a 15:18.78 finish. Joe Hertel took fourth, finishing in 15:57.31.

Hosni, Marquardt, Cullen and Vey won the 4x400-meter relay in 3:23.52. Hertel, Chadwick, Paul Proteau and Jake Krause took third (3:32.05).

Field Events

Gregory Jenkins (Viterbo) won the high jump with a 2.01-meter mark. Caleb Cornelius took second with a 1.96-meter jump. Charlie Nolan tied for third (1.91) and Mason Delaney and Mason Voight tied each other for seventh (1.81).

Zach Zirgibel won the pole vault with a 4.90 vault, sixth in program history. Ewens took third (4.05), RJ Bosshart took sixth (3.65) and Aden Sears took seventh (3.45).

Jenkins (Viterbo) won the long jump, followed immediately by four Titans. AK Toheeb-Lawal took second (6.97), Jamyle Brantley took third (6.85) and Sebastian Jefferson took fourth (6.82). Elijah McCauley finished in seventh with a 6.41-meter jump.

Jonathan Wilburn's 15.15-meter triple jump won the event and sits at third in program history. Charlie Nolan took third with a 13.80-meter jump and Benny Jung took seventh with a 12.32-meter jump.

Kyle Brown (Auburn) won the 35-lb. weight throw, recording a 21.84-meter mark. Max Schoening's 14.06-meter throw got him 10th place, being the top Titan in the event. 

Joseph White (Carthage) recorded the furthest mark in the shot put (17.20). Isaiah Isom took second (15.45) and Kieran Maude took eighth (13.95).
