Titans' Early Bird Invitational Win Includes 12 Event Victories

Londyn Little won two sprints, including the 200-meter dash with a school-record run, as UW-Oshkosh totaled 44 top-five finishes to register a dominating performance at its own Early Bird Men's Track & Field Invitational on Saturday (Dec. 11) in Kolf Sports Center.

UW-Oshkosh scored 339 points to win the five-team meet. The Titans nearly doubled the combined score of the other four competing teams as Concordia University Wisconsin finished second with 67 points, UW-Parkside third with 55, Ripon College fourth with 44 and Lakeland University fifth with five.

UW-Oshkosh owned the winner in 12 events. The Titans also placed second in 10 events, third in nine, fourth in seven and fifth in six.

Little took first place in the 200-meter dash with a school-record time of 21.77 seconds. The Titans had the next four finishers in the race as Aaron McCarroll-Richardson ranked second with a time of 22.16 seconds, Robert Ogbuli third in 22.32, Jaylin Boatman fourth in 22.40 and Richard Bosshart fifth in 22.49.

Little earned his other victory in the 60-meter dash. He won the event with a time of 6.82 seconds while teammates Ogbuli finished second in 6.88, McCarroll-Richardson third in 6.91, Denzel Thomas fourth in 6.92, Joey Kean fifth in 6.92, Bosshart sixth in 7.06 and Boatman seventh in 7.08.

UW-Oshkosh also ruled the mile run. The Titans had the top five finishers in the event as Eduardo Neri placed first with a time of 4:28.88, Andrew Strasser second in 4:43.27, John Thill third in 4:34.98, Ryan Dolnik fourth in 4:35.36 and Cody Witthun fifth in 4:46.27.

The Titans additionally swept the top three finishes in the 3,000-meter run and high jump. 

Mitchell Bradford won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:38.79 while Andrew George placed second in 8:42.64 and Jason Ford third in 9:03.93.

Caleb Cornelius took first place in the high jump with a height of 6-7 while Julien Harden and Aden Sears tied for second at 6-3 1/4.

UW-Oshkosh received other winning performances on the track from Joe Kehoe, Aaron Kiela, Steven Potter and the 1,600-meter relay team of Adrian Girone, Elijah Pena, Ryan Potter and Amitai Wheat.

Kehoe ran to a time of 15:24.95 in the 5,000-meter run while Kiela went 8.65 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles and Steven Potter 1:52.40 in the 800-meter run. The Titans' 1,600-meter relay team etched a time of 3:21.36.

The Titans concluded their field event victories with the measurements of 23-0 in the long jump by Abdul-Karim Toheeb-Lawal, 14-9 in the pole vault by Eli Tranel and 49-2 1/2 in triple jump by Jonathan Wilburn.

UW-Oshkosh collected its remaining second-place listings from Leslie Fisher's skip of 46-0 3/4 in the triple jump, Bo Koehn's time of 50.31 seconds in the 400-meter run, Jack Malloy's measurement of 41-3 1/4 in the shot put, Max Schoening's cast of 52-6 in the 35-pound weight throw and Zachary Zirgibel's height of 14-3 1/4 in the pole vault. Malloy also finished fourth in the 35-pound weight throw with a distance of 47-4 1/2.

Additional third-place finishes for the Titans went to Girone in the 400-meter run with a time of 51.07 seconds, Jamyle Brantley in the long jump with a leap of 22-4 1/4, Jacob Dennison in the 35-pound weight throw with a mark of 48-7 1/2, Matt Dorenkamper in the shot put with a toss of 41-1 and Reid Marquardt in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.71. Dorenkamper also ranked fifth in the 35-pound weight throw with a distance of 46-6 1/4.

UW-Oshkosh also had Noah Bruehl finish fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.09, Augie Marks fourth in the long jump with a measurement of 22-3 1/2, Evan Wendland fourth in the 400-meter run with a time of 51.97 seconds, Weston Lerdal fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.62 seconds and Payton White fifth in the long jump with a leap of 21-9 1/2.

UW-Oshkosh will host its annual Alumni/Intrasquad Meet on Jan. 15 in Kolf Sports Center before competing at the Ripon College Red Hawk Opener on Jan. 22.
