Titans Commence Outdoor Season With Three Winning Performances

The UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team launched its outdoor season by recording three first- and four second-place finishes Saturday (March 27) at the Carroll University Open in Waukesha.

The outdoor competition was the first for the Titans since May 25 of the 2019 NCAA Division III Championship in Geneva, Ohio.

UW-Oshkosh finished third in the team scoring with 104 points. Milwaukee School of Engineering won the 11-team meet with 128 points while St. Norbert College placed second with 108, Carroll University fourth with 102 and Carthage College fifth with 69.

The Titans received winning performances in the 20-event meet from Brett Clavijo, Eduardo Neri and Jackson Sheckler.

Clavijo defeated 28 other sprinters in the 100-meter dash with his time of 11.28 seconds while Neri ousted three other contestants in the 10,000-meter run with his result of 32:29.14. Sheckler beat 29 other participants in the shot put with his measurement of 52-5 1/2. Sheckler also placed seventh in the discus with a distance of 128-2.

Mason Resch contributed to the Titans' 20 top-eight finishes by ranking sixth in the discus with a cast of 128-8 and eighth in the hammer throw with a mark of 145-7.

Finishing second for UW-Oshkosh were Mitchell Bradford in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 32:39.65, Andrew George in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:33.49, Andrew Rathkamp in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:08.06 and Joshua Rivers in the long jump with a leap of 20-7 3/4.

Titans earning third place were Joe Kehoe in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 32:43.03, Reid Marquardt in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.76 and Andrew Strasser in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:06.25.

Fourth-place listings went to UW-Oshkosh's Andrew Muskevitsch in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 33:08.68 and Nick Tegtmeier in the shot put with a measurement of 49-2 1/4.

Taking fifth place for the Titans were Noah O'Neill in the 800- and Noah O'Neill in the 1,500-meter runs with times of 2:00.52 and 4:09.54, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh also had Jason Ford finish seventh in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:11.26, Denzel Thomas seventh in the javelin with a throw of 118-6 and Jack Malloy eighth in the discus with a distance of 123-8.

The Titans compete Friday (April 2) at the UW-Whitewater Rex Foster Twilight Invitational.
