Sixteen Titans Receive All-Region Track & Field Accolades

Sixteen members of the UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team, including four multiple award winners, received NCAA Division III All-Midwest Region accolades from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the 2021 indoor season.

A total of 579 all-region awards were distributed among the nation's eight Division III regions. To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top five individuals in their respective region on the final TFRRS Descending Order List. In addition, each member of a region's top-three relay team was also selected for distinction.

Junior Aaron McCarroll-Richardson and sophomore Ryan Potter both earned three All-Region citations for UW-Oshkosh while juniors Andrew George and Steven Potter obtained two awards apiece.

McCarroll-Richardson earned All-Region status in the long jump, 200-meter dash and 1,600-meter relay. He concluded the indoor portion of the 2021 schedule ranked seventh nationally in both the long jump and 200-meter dash with season-best performances of 23-1 1/4 and 22.12 seconds, respectively.

In the 1,600-meter relay, McCarroll-Richardson, junior Amitai Wheat and sophomores Adrian Girone and Ryan Potter collected All-Region status for recording the nation's seventh-fastest time of 3:19.30.

Potter also obtained All-Region mention in the 400- and 800-meter runs. He ranked 11th in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.33 and 15th in the 400-meter run with a pace of 49.84 seconds.

George and Steven Potter picked up their two All-Region awards in the mile and 3,000-meter runs and the 800-meter and mile runs, respectively. George ranked eighth in the mile run with a time of 4:13.64 and 17th in the 3,000-meter run with a measure of 8:36.02. Potter recorded times of 1:53.72 in the 800-meter run and 4:13.80 in the mile run to rank ninth and 10th in the country, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh junior Jonathan Wilburn acquired All-Region reference after finishing the indoor season with a nation-leading distance of 49-11 1/4 in the triple jump.

The Titans also had two All-Region selections in the 60-meter dash as sophomore Jaylen Grant ranked fifth nationally with a time of 6.87 seconds and senior Robert Ogbuli ninth at 6.88.

UW-Oshkosh's remaining All-Region honorees featured freshman Jaylin Boatman and juniors Jamyle Brantley and Jackson Sheckler. Brantley ranked fourth in the long jump with a measurement of 23-4, Sheckler ninth in the shot put with a throw of 53-6 1/2 and Boatman 11th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.24 seconds.

The Titans' final All-Region tribute went to the distance medley relay squad of seniors Noah Bruehl and Andrew Rathkamp and sophomores Reid Marquardt and Evan Wendland. The foursome ranked 16th nationally with their time of 10:26.11.

UW-Oshkosh athletes collecting their third All-Region award were Brantley in the long jump, Steven Potter in the 800-meter run and Wilburn in the triple jump.

Other Titans repeating from last year's All-Region squad were Grant in the 60-meter dash, Steven Potter in the mile run, Sheckler in the shot put and both Girone and Wheat in the 1,600-meter relay.
