McCarroll-Richardson, Potter Lead Titans' All-WIAC Track & Field Selections

Junior Aaron McCarroll-Richardson and sophomore Ryan Potter achieved recognition in three events apiece to pace UW-Oshkosh's 13 selections to the 2021 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Team.

This year's all-league selections were based on the final times and distances in the TFRRS rankings due to the cancellation of the WIAC Indoor Championship. The owner of the top performance in each of the conference's 17 events was named to the First Team while the runner-up in each category was selected to the Second Team. Honorable Mention recognition was awarded to the holder of the league's third-best performance in each event.

McCarroll-Richardson and Potter both earned First Team accolades in the 1,600-meter relay along with teammates Adrian Girone and Amitai Wheat. The foursome attained the tribute with their conference-leading time of 3:19.30.

McCarroll-Richardson also received Second Team status in the 200-meter dash and Honorable Mention recognition in the long jump with his season-best performances of 22.12 seconds and 23-1 1/4, respectively.

Potter additionally acquired Second Team honors in the 800- and Honorable Mention credit in the 400-meter runs with times of 1:54.33 and 49.84 seconds, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh had three other individual First Team selections in Jamyle Brantley, Steven Potter and Jonathan Wilburn. Brantley recorded a conference-leading distance of 23-4 in the long jump while Potter and Wilburn registered league-leading efforts of 1:53.72 in the 800-meter run and 49-11 1/4 in the triple jump, respectively.

The Titans' distance medley relay group of Noah Bruehl, Reid Marquardt, Andrew Rathkamp and Evan Wendland also obtained First Team accolades with their conference-leading time of 10:26.11.

UW-Oshkosh's Second Team listings concluded with the season-best times of 4:13.64 in the mile run from Andrew George and 6.87 seconds in the 60-meter dash from Jaylen Grant.

The Titans had two other Honorable Mention selections in Robert Ogbuli and Jackson Sheckler. Ogbuli earned the award for his time of 6.88 seconds in the 60-meter dash and Sheckler for his measurement of 53-6 1/2 in the shot put.

UW-Oshkosh's Ogbuli was named to the conference's eight-member All-Sportsmanship Team.

UW-Oshkosh and UW-La Crosse led all WIAC programs with five First Team selections apiece while UW-Stout had three, UW-Whitewater two and UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stevens Point one each.

UW-Whitewater's David Fassbender was named the league's Track Performer of the Year, while UW-Stout's Noah Zastrow received Field Performer of the Year recognition. UW-Whitewater's Christian Patzka was selected Newcomer of the Year and UW-La Crosse the Coaching Staff of the Year. 

UW-Oshkosh begins its outdoor season Saturday (March 27) at the Carroll University Open.
