Titans Record Three Top-10 National Performances Against Warhawks

UW-Oshkosh won four events, including the 60-meter dash where Jaylen Grant established this season's second-fastest NCAA Division III time, during its non-scoring dual meet with the UW-Whitewater men's track & field team on Saturday (Feb. 13) in Whitewater.

Grant, who holds the UW-Oshkosh 60-meter dash record at 6.81 seconds, defeated 10 other competitors during Saturday's winning sprint of 6.88. Grant also finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.85 seconds.

Other event winners for the Titans were Aaron McCarroll-Richardson in the 200-meter dash with his time of 22.59 seconds, Steven Potter in the 800-meter run with his time of 1:54.50 and Andrew Rathkamp in the mile run with his time of 4:34.94. McCarroll-Richardson also placed second in the long jump with a leap of 23-0 3/4.

UW-Oshkosh dominated the 200-meter dash by owning the top five finishers. In addition to McCarroll-Richardson and Grant, the Titans also had Robert Ogbuli place second in 22.78 seconds, Rashaad Henderson fourth in 23.16 and Amitai Wheat fifth in 23.17.

In the mile run, UW-Oshkosh's Rathkamp was followed by Titans Cody Witthun in second place with a time of 4:37.50 and Andrew Strasser in third at 4:38.00.

Two other Titans cracked this season's national top-10 performance list as Denzel Thomas recorded the fourth-best 60-meter dash time with his second-place sprint of 6.90 seconds and Andrew George the 10th-best 3,000-meter run time with his third-place trek of 8:36.02.

UW-Oshkosh had five other second-place results, including Wheat's time of 50.77 seconds in the 400-meter run, Ryan Potter's time of 1:55.24 in the 800-meter run, Tay'Jion Johnson's toss of 44-1 1/2 in the shot put and Mason Resch's distance of 51-8 1/2 in the 35-pound weight throw.

The Titans' 1,600-meter relay contingent of Rathkamp, Noah Bruehl, Reid Marquardt and Noah O'Neill contributed a second-place finish with their time of 3:37.67.

Rounding out UW-Oshkosh's third-place listings were Joshua Rivers in the long jump with a leap of 22-0 1/4 and Brant Sanderfoot with a height of 12-5 1/2 in the pole vault.

Payton White owned two of the Titans' remaining five fourth-place finishes with his time of 9.81 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles and height of 10-0 in the pole vault. Marquardt, Resch and Jason Myrick placed fourth for UW-Oshkosh with their performancea of 1:59.10 in the 800-meter run, 42-4 3/4 in the shot put and 49-7 1/4 in the 35-pound weight throw, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh, which ranks second nationally in the Division III Indoor Track & Field Rating Index compiled by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, travels to UW-Whitewater again on Friday (Feb. 19) for another dual meet against the Warhawks.
