Trimner Named WIAC Track Athlete Of The Week

The WIAC chose UW-Oshkosh's Danny Trimner as one of its two Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week award winners for meets held April 4-10.

Trimner, the league's top track performer, defeated eight other competitors to win the 400-meter hurdles at the Rex Foster Invitational held April 10 in Whitewater.

Trimner's winning time of 53.99 seconds is the seventh-fastest in the NCAA Division III this season. UW-Oshkosh's Garrison Griest finished second to Trimner with a time of 54.84 seconds.

Trimner also ran the final leg of UW-Oshkosh's first-place 1,600-meter relay team. The group of Trimner, Jack Prescott, John Bartels and Jake Skoien recorded a winning time of 3:30.72. UW-Whitewater finished second in the race with a time of 3:31.90.

UW-Whitewater scored 333 points to win the five-team meet. UW-Oshkosh placed second with 273 points and the Greater Milwaukee Track Club third with 7.

Nathan Berg of UW-La Crosse was named the WIAC Field Athlete of the Week.
