Titans to Host Pioneers for Senior Day

OSHKOSH, Wis.— Concluding the regular season, the nationally-ranked UW-Oshkosh Titans softball squad (31-55, 8-4 WIAC) will host UW-Platteville (24-12, 7-5 WIAC) on May 6 in a doubleheader. First pitch is set to be thrown out at 1 p.m. at the UW-Oshkosh Softball Park.

The Titans will honor the senior class following the second game.

The Titans are in a tie for second in the WIAC standings with UW-La Crosse. UW-Oshkosh can  secure a share of the crown by winning both games and UW-Platteville and having UW-La Crosse sweep UW-Whitewater on May 6. 

Looking at the stats, the Titans lead the WIAC with a .330 batting average and an ERA of 1.49. The Titans ERA is eighth in the nation while their fielding percentage in fifth in the nation (.979).

The Titans lead the conference in hits (327), on-base percentage (.398), scoring (6.03), shutouts (11), triples (12), win-loss percentage (.861), and walks (105).

Individually, Hannah Ritter leads the team with a batting average of .487 and is second in the conference. Ritter leads the conference in hits (58) while Sophie Wery is tied for most home runs this season (9). Wery leads the conference in RBIs at 40.

Maddie Fink (1.16 ERA) and Sydney Nemetz (1.43 ERA) are in the top five pitchers for ERA as the Titans lead the WIAC in ERA with a combined 1.49. Fink leads the lead in complete games (15) and innings pitched (115). The Titans pitchers' have held their opponents to a .210 batting average.

Peeking at the record book, Ritter is six hits away from having the most hits in school history. Currently, Ritter has 190 hits. The record is 195 and was set by Sydnee Wyss, who played for the Titans from 2008-2011. 

The Titans are ranked 22nd in this week's National Fastpitch Coaches Association Poll.
